Essential Modern Bathroom Furniture Ideas 2022

Apart from the traditional toilet, basin, and shower/bath combination, there are a few pieces of furniture that will transform your bathroom into something extraordinary.

You may not have the luxury of a large bathroom. However, with some thoughtful design features, your bathroom will be perfect regardless of its size.

Mirrors

Let's face facts. We all want to see ourselves when we go to the bathroom, even if it's not what we expect.

You might consider installing the largest bathroom you have available to create the illusion of space. If the bathroom is small, a large mirror will reflect light and make it seem larger than it is.

You might also want to create a stylish, symmetrical look by using two smaller mirrors next to each other. It looks great over two sinks, but also over one mirror.

A horizontal installation of a mirror over a vanity or storage unit is a good idea. Make sure the mirror's width is equal to the unit. A mirror with the same width is ideal, although it is possible to make it smaller. However, a wider mirror is not advisable.

A mirror should be large enough to show off your vanity.

Vanity units

Even if you have limited space, a vanity unit can make your bathroom more efficient. This is the area where you'll wash and store your items, so it should be large enough to do these tasks.

The location and size required vanity will be determined by plumbing and bathroom obstacles such as doors, toilets, and showers.

Here are some things to keep in mind:

  • Are you looking for a single or a double sink?
  • Are you looking for a mixer tap or separate cold and hot taps?
  • Are you looking for drawers, cupboards, or a combination of both?
  • What can be kept in the vanity? Towels, makeup, toilet roll, and cleaning products will be stored in the vanity.
  • Are you looking for flat surfaces?
  • Do lights need to be integrated?

It is just as important to consider who will be using your vanity, and how you intend to use it. You'll quickly tire of your vanity's stylish looks if it is not practical.

Lighting

A quality bathroom must have the right lighting. Your bathroom should look great so that you can see what you are doing.

Here are some considerations when choosing bathroom lighting.

  • Don't rely on just one bulb in the middle of the room. This can cause shadows and unflattering lighting.
  • For easy shaving and make-up application, install lights above or below your mirror
  • Recessed lighting can be installed in the ceiling for even coverage throughout the entire room
  • Is it possible to have more light in the shower?
  • Use natural light from windows to your advantage. Do not use frosted glass to block light from entering.
  • To keep the room bright and airy, use a light colour scheme
  • Shiny fixtures such as chrome fittings, heated towel bars, or glass chandeliers can reflect light.
